Meet Pope in the Field Office
Your first task in the mission is to return to the Field Office in Central to speak with Pope. Head that way when you're ready to begin.

You'll find Pope speaking with a ranger after entering the building. Walk up and talk to her to begin.

She thanks Dylan for his role in Into the Sinkhole, prompting him to reply. You have three options to pick, one of which allows Dylan to offer commendations for Zoe, who helped him escape. Before this mission, Zoe reveals that she's under investigation for insubordination by Arish, so feel free to choose this option if you want to put in a good word for the agent.

Pope continues, telling Dylan that the tremors at the Evac Building are worsening. She believes the CFD has weeks of work left, but Arish wants to expedite the process, even if it's risky. This leads to three replies. Feel free to choose whichever sounds best, as your choice won't change the outcome of the story.

At the end of the conversation, Pope offers a suggestion on how to "accelerate" CFD testing. Someone, that's Dylan, can lure some Hiss close to the device. The team will use an incredibly small amount of power to run the CFD as a test. The only problem is that Arish doesn't want Dylan's help, which makes sense considering their... unfortunate history.

Regardless, Pope asks Dylan to meet with Arish and convince him to let the parautilitarian lend a hand. You get two options for a reply, neither of which allows you to say no.

Report to Arish at the CFD Platform
Dylan is set loose after speaking with Pope, and now he must make a beeline straight to Arish. You'll find him at the sinkhole, in the Evacuation Zone, where the FBC has the CFD ready and waiting.

If you don't feel like walking, you can climb the Security Station and use the Fast Travel Door to zip away to the Evacuation Zone. Activate the door and choose the Main Street Fast Travel Door in the Evacuation Zone, if you have it unlocked.
As you get close, you can see what the FBC and Arish have done with the body of the Artist — it's a gruesome sight. The Artist's body hangs suspended in several pieces over the sinkhole, connected via a crane and more high-tech parts.
You'll find Arish standing near the Artist on the CFD platform. Walk up and speak with him to begin.

Arish shares a similar sentiment that the CFD is a real piece of nasty tech, but supports its existence. He seems to suffer a headache before speaking again. Afterward, you can reply by choosing between three options. Feel free to pick any, as the choice won't change the course of the mission.
He then tells Dylan that he suspended Zoe for her role in helping Dylan while he was trapped in the sinkhole.

This leads to another chance to respond with two options, both of which lead to the same place: Dylan thinks the suspension is going too far. If you pick the "This is about me," option, Dylan throws the reasoning back in Arish's face.
The next reply comes soon after the co-director questions Dylan's value. You can pick three options for your response.

The conversation leads to Arish telling Dylan that he's being pulled from active service and that he'll be returned to his cell. If he resists, Arish promises to activate the device and fry his brain.
He ends by telling Dylan his true thoughts on him: that he doesn't consider him a human. His migraine flares up again, and Dylan gets three more response options. Again, feel free to pick any of the options, but if you go with "You just feel guilty," you can continue challenging Arish's logic.

Arish, however, doesn't get a chance to hit back as another tremor sends a shockwave past the group. A second tremor soon hits after Dylan tells Arish that the co-director needs his help. Suddenly, the streets start crawling with Hiss. Knowing he no longer has a choice, Arish sends Faden to defend the CFD.

Reach the Front and Defend the CFD
When you're ready to dance, drop down from the building to the busy streets below. Here, FBC rangers team up with you to defend the CFD against the approaching army.
There are Heavies to defeat, but you should consider focusing on the Hiss Clusters, which float above the tumult, healing their allies.

It's a grindy fight, but keep taking out the Hiss Heavy enemies, and the first wave will soon end.
Defend the CFD at the Blockade
Yes, first wave. After clearing out the enemies, another wave appears following a powerful tremor. And it appears their goal is to destroy it.
Head west back to the blockade, where you'll face off against more Hiss Heavies. Continue fighting, focusing on Hiss Clusters and the Heavy foes.

Unfortunately, this isn't a fight easily won. Another tremor rocks through the area, and Arish orders Faden to return to the CFD to defend it.
Retreat to the CFD Platform
As soon as you're able, return to the CFD platform to assist Arish. You can use the lifts on the side of the buildings to get to the platform quickly.

The platform and the FBC rangers are being overrun by Hiss. Quickly cross the gap and join the fight. Sadly, it won't take long before it's clear that it's a losing battle. Arish orders Dylan to activate the weapon.
Activate the CFD
The fight surrounding the device is hectic, and it only gets worse as time goes on. Soon enough, a Hiss Ruiner appears like a nightmare from the past.
Arish orders you to find the lever to activate the CFD, sensing that they ran out of time and must use it before it gets destroyed by the Hiss.
The lever can be found on the corner of the barricade on the northwestern side.

Quickly run up and interact with it to activate the CFD.

The device turns on, slamming the parts of the Artist back together before firing a massive beam from her face in the direction of the Evac Building.

Celebrations are cut short, however, after objects around the barricade begin Patterning. Arish orders Dylan to shut it down, but the lever gets Patterned just as he reaches it. Things are looking bad.

The CFD suddenly sends Patterned objects straight into the air, Dylan included. He finds himself in a tunnel with an exit in the distance.
Follow the CFD and Use the Switch
The CFD is out of control and, at the moment, is a greater threat to the city than the Hiss. Dylan must chase the CFD, find the device's power controls, and shut it down.
Reach the end of the tunnel, where the CFD causes a shockwave before flying further away.

Enter the next room. It ends at a large gap you must cross to reach the device. There are platforms hanging in the air, but they're on the left and right sides.
To reach them, head to one of the walls, which are Gravity Anomaly surfaces, and attach yourself to it.

Next, approach the edge and cross the gap using the floating platforms.

After the last platform, a small blockade appears. Float around it to reach the next area.

The following room contains Hiss Heavies and their minions. You can reach the ones on the other surfaces by attaching to the Gravity Anomaly surfaces. Try taking out the Hiss Focus enemies first, as they'll zap you from all angles.

Clear the room and use one of the rooftop units to progress onto the ledge.

The next area has you leaping over platforms. At the end is a Patterned group of objects pulsing like the aperture of a camera lens. Wait for the aperture to open and leap through.

Continue progressing until you find yourself at a group of platforms that twist around. Leap to the next platform and attach to the Gravity Anomaly surface. Continue doing this until you end up at a platform overlooking a road ending at a chasm.

Jump down onto the road, where more Hiss, including Hiss Nodes, appear. The Nodes block the exit, forcing you to fight and clear the waves.

There are four Hiss Nodes to locate and destroy. Follow the red threads to each one and cut them down.

Destroy the Hiss Nodes and then climb into the open shaft, which is spilling out a blinding white light.

As you reach the end of the shaft, the CFD attempts to push you back. Leap from the end of the tunnel and use Elevate to cross the gap to the line of platforms.
Destroy the CFD
Follow the platforms until you finally make it to the switch. Interacting with it doesn't work, though.

Dylan gets warped to another platform, telling Arish he has to destroy the CFD. Arish disagrees, saying that this is the only way to stop the Hiss.
The CFD pushes against Dylan, but keep holding forward to reach the end, where you can press the button or key prompt to Execute the CFD.

Doing so begins a cutscene in which Dylan stabs the Aberrant into the CFD, even as Arish attempts to fry his brain. Dylan loses consciousness and begins floating away, but the job was done.
After he blacks out, you're shown a video of Dr. Darling talking about Dylan and how he believes he needs to "push" him harder to get what he wants.
Dylan wakes up in his cell with Zoe reaching out to him. She informs him that Pope has become the acting director after the, erm, mishap with the CFD. The FBC has also changed priorities, viewing the Patterning as a threat greater than the Hiss.

Acting Director Pope has also let Dylan back into the field, and Zoe is back as his handler. You have two response options.

Zoe tells Dylan that the CFD has deepened the sinkhole, which is a problem. She asks him to meet with Pope for new orders.
This ends Enemy of My Enemy. The next mission is Recursions and Iterations.
